Privacy
Cabinet lets you track your collection by taking photos and recording voice memos. There is very little magic here: a human being (me) will examine these and enter the data. Your files are stored on Amazon S3. Consider them to be roughly as private as your back garden: not public, but not totally secure. In general: only input what you are OK with strangers having access to. (This is a good general principle for any internet service.)
Voice memos are auto-transcribed, so I only listen to them if the machine transcription is unintelligible.
Deleted items are soft-deleted, and hard-deleted after 90 days. Deleted photos are hard-deleted immediately. They might linger in backups for longer, but I'm trying to minimise data retention.
I don't sell or give away your data, and I do my best to keep it secure. Passwords are encrypted in the database.
Get in touch with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
